Based on The Balanced Scorecard, we cut through the complexity to help you chart a path to the future you desire.  Using compression planning techniques we will create a plan with the future identified, initiatives laid out with assignments and milestones.  We can also be there to make sure your plan stays on track.

Our Approach

Phase I (The Now)

First we would guide the team and executives through a process designed to flesh out where you are right now.  How can you plan for the future without knowing where you are right now?  For example, perhaps you want to raise your College’s standing in the nation as measured by published papers, grants, student enrollments, etc.  To do that we need to know the data on what you are doing now.

We’d also want to explore what drives your team, what obstacles they face and other questions designed to flesh out the current situation.  This would include a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats).  Done correctly the SWOT gives a clear view of  the current state and how your team views the itself.  There’s great benefit in that.

Phase II (The Future)

This is the fun part.  We enjoy facilitating the team through a process designed to create a compelling future – where you want your organization to go in the next 1-3 years.  We use Compression Planning techniques (for all Phases) to keep us on track and focused.  This would culminate in a set of broad initiatives that would get us to that compelling future.

Phase III (Implementation)

A strategy is not valuable unless we leave the process with action plans, people responsible, and budgets required.  We would take each of the broad initiatives and break them up into the milestones and objectives needed to accomplish each.  We’d assign them to people and lay out the plan to review progress to make sure the plan comes to fruition.   We will also give guidance on how to keep the initiatives from losing energy.
